Rodeo to become annual event

Organisers of Saturday’s inaugural Rodeo Fest Australia event in Kalgoorlie-Boulder intend to make the show an annual event after thousands of spectators converged on the Cruickshank Sports Arena.

Fifty-five bull riders competed in what was described as “the toughest sport on dirt”.

Rodeo organiser Rod Caddies estimated more than 2000 spectators attended.

“It was very successful for a first time event and it will definitely go on to become an annual event,” Mr Caddies said yesterday.

“We have already committed for next year with sponsors already on board.”

Mr Caddies said the committee are committed to making the event even bigger and better next year.
