Imaginations flexed with Foley

Schoolchildren from across Kalgoorlie-Boulder had a chance to flex their imaginations with WA author James Foley.

About 70 Year 3 students from South Kalgoorlie Primary School attended the William Grundt Memorial Library for the workshop with Mr Foley.

He has been visiting schools as part of the continuation of Book Week, which was held from August 18-24.

Yesterday, the children learnt about Viking history and were asked to draw their idea of a Viking god.

This task sparked numerous ideas including gods of lightning, fire, candy and love.

“I try to encourage them to have more confidence in their writing and drawing and to have fun learning about stuff like Viking history,” Mr Foley said.
