An Education Department review of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School has found “dramatic improvement” at the school.
A three-person Expert Review Group spent two days at the school interviewing 55 local residents including staff, students and community leaders.
The school was recognised by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry earlier this year for a number of improvements including behaviour, uniforms and mobile phone policy.
But it is understood the finding of the review would be used by the Department to help alleviate problems at other schools in the State.
In a statement released earlier in the week, review director Brett Hunt said the review had found vast improvement at the school.“The school’s environment has a long history of being unsettled, but we found the current team has focused on developing a welcoming, structured and predictable environment for everyone,” Mr Hunt said.
