The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Race Round will receive a $250,000 boost in funding over the next three years as the State Government moves to promote country racing.
Funded through Royalties for Regions, the money will used to promote the Round as a statewide and national attraction, as well as promoting off-course events throughout the week.
Announcing the funding at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Race Club yesterday, Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls said the funding reflected the importance of the round to the community.
“We encourage the club to keep coming up with ideas how they can grow the event,” Mr Grylls said.“This will allow them to have certainly of funding, instead of being reliant on the love of volunteers as well.”
