Heartbreak turns into a positive for Angela
Former Kalgoorlie-Boulder woman Angela Perry has turned the heartbreaking experience of losing her baby into a positive, raising money for the hospital where her son Noah was born.
In the process she has raised $15,000 and received honorary membership to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital’s “Royal Family” in recognition of her fundraising and support for the hospital.
Ms Perry will also be the face of a special Royal Mum’s Tribute Book, only published every 10 years.
“I have been asked to share mine and Noah’s story to be published in the book and I have also been asked to be the face of the book, so I will be on the front cover and first page of each chapter,” Ms Perry said.
“It is such a special honour and will be printed and available for purchase around May this year.”
Noah was delivered by emergency caesarean on January 23 last year, 10 weeks early.
But weighing just 1030g and 40.3cm long, he suffered a devastating loss of oxygen, and spent six days on life support in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before he passed away.
