Connecting to Kambalda

Unreliable phone coverage used to be a fact of life for many Kambalda residents, but not any more.

Thanks to a new dual mode phone from Indigo, Kambalda residents will now be able to stay connected.

Indigo Telecom chief executive David Ruddiman said Kambalda residents were among those Australians living in remote parts of the country who had been forgotten by the major telcos.

“To a city slicker it may sound absurd that in a country as advanced as ours, more than a million Australians haven’t previously had reliable access to a mobile phone network,” Mr Ruddiman said.

The new phones are available from Australia Post at Kambalda.

“It has been wonderful to work with Australia Post and observe the difference our phones can make in the lives of farmers, health workers and local businesses, ” he said.
