The Goldfields will benefit by almost $140,000 in the latest round of funding increases in the Home and Community Care program announced last week out of its $15.9 million budget for 2012.

The Paupiyala Tjarutja Aboriginal Corporation will receive $120,000 to expand services and a further $19,500 to replace equipment through HACC’s additional funding initiative.

Other regional funding recipients included the East Pilbara Independent Support agency with $136,000 and Capecare in the State’s South West with $250,000.

HACC funding boosts were also received by the City of Swan and the South West Metropolitan region for $117,000 and $277,000 respectively.

Federal Minister for Mental Health and Ageing Mark Butler said support for the HACC program was making a real difference to people’s quality of life.
