Premier set to visit Esperance

Tim Slater, Kalgoorlie Miner February 16, 2012, 9:44 am

Premier Colin Barnett will be in Esperance tomorrow and Saturday to meet community groups and visit key facilities.

Mr Barnett will attend a briefing with Shire of Esperance councillors and staff and meet members of the lead cleanup and recovery project team.

“I am very much looking forward to receiving a first-hand update about local community issues,” Mr Barnett said.

He said the cleanup project was a “shining example” of how the Government and the community could work together and was expected to be completed by June.

“The work undertaken during the comprehensive cleanup process is being thoroughly documented and will become a reference for the international scientific community,” he said.
