Three police cars were engaged in a chase through the Goldfields-Esperance region, which lasted for nearly an hour.

The incident started in Merredin on Sunday when police allege a 24-year-old man stole a car.

Esperance Police officer in charge Ricky Chadwick said the group then travelled on to Norseman, where, on Monday, a 23-year-old woman allegedly stole two Royal Flying Doctor Service fundraising tins from businesses in the town.

While employees at one business managed to recover their tin by knocking it out of the woman’s hands, the other tin has not been recovered.

“The group then departed Norseman and were spotted near Gibson later in the day,” Senior Sergeant Chadwick said.

Officers pursued the car down the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway, before police lost sight of it on the outskirts of Esperance.
