Local gold and silver player MacPhersons Reward Gold has received the first drillcore assay results from its Nimbus Project, located next to the famous Kalgoorlie Super Pit.

The results have confirmed a high grade VHMS zone.

The central 7m portion of the first 13m thick massive sulphide zone has an average assay of 1660g/t silver (53.4 oz/t), 31.1 per cent zinc, and 6.92 per cent lead.

Individual metre thick samples ranged from 505g/t to 3270g/t silver and from 20.2 to 41.1 per cent zinc. The VHMS mineralisation was intersected from 20m to 60m below the existing Discovery Pit floor.

The zone was intersected in a diamond drillhole at a downhole depth of 160m to 167m and forms part of a much larger zone of massive, semi-massive and stockwork sulphide zones.

The Nimbus silver mine operated from 2003 to 2007 producing 3.6Moz of silver at an average grade of 353g/t.
