A Nulsen Primary School teacher has said the use of iPads has improved her student’s engagement in class.
The school received the iPads recently and have been trialling them in a number of classes, including Belle West’s Year 2 class.
Ms West said the apps and programs on the device helped to improve the children’s knowledge of phonetics, spelling, sighted words and maths.
She said the use of the iPad was being implemented as part of the school’s literacy and numeracy plan, as well as its information, communication and technology plan.
When asked for the effect the iPads had on her students, Ms West said they were “100 per cent more engaged”.
“They are a lot more engaged,” Ms West said.“It is a real incentive tool in the classroom.”
