Celebrate Australia

Australia Day is fast approaching and the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is coming together to celebrate being part of this lucky country.

To make the most of our national day, a wide range of events has been organised.

Foremost among the celebrations, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is throwing a big Aussie breakfast from 8am to celebrate the day ahead of the Australia Day Awards and citizenship ceremony.

During the awards ceremony, selected residents will be presented with awards for Citizen of the Year, the Mayoral Award and Community Group or event of the year.

Also as part of every Australia Day, a citizenship ceremony will welcome new Australian citizens into our country. New citizens are from Poland, India, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.

They range from family groups and individuals, with 40 confirmed recipients so far.

“It makes me proud to live in Kalgoorlie-Boulder when I see the amount of support this event receives, ” Mayor Ron Yuryevich said.
