DIY workshops help break the holiday boredom

Free school holiday DIY workshops are being held at Bunnings Warehouse Kalgoorlie.

Beginning at 10 am every Tuesday and Thursday, the workshops teach children how to make or decorate a variety of craft projects, including library bags, oriental fans and trinket boxes.

Bunnings Warehouse DIY assistant Justine Eeles said she chose a different theme for each session.

“For Australia Day we will paint Australian flags, for Chinese New Year it’s Chinese lanterns, ” Ms Eeles said.

“It’s great, the kids have a ball and they get to take something home with them.”

She said about 17 children and their parents came along to last Thursday’s workshop.

DIY workshops are also held every Saturday and Sunday.

Children’s sessions begin at 10am, with classes for adults at 11am, noon and 2pm.

Bookings ares recommended.
