The atmosphere at Kingsbury Park will heat up tomorrow with a twilight skate, BMX and scooter competition, which is open to all ages.
Run as a school holiday activity, the competition aims to give local youth something to do after hours.
“Everyone is always looking for something fun to do on the school holidays, ” youth mayor Samantha Fielder said.
The event will be run in partnership by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Freestyle Now BMX crew.
Freestyle Now uses extreme sports as a tool to promote courtesy and respect among young people.
The group aims to provide a professionally run competition with an emphasis on having a go.
Competitors will do battle in two one-minute competition runs, which will be scored on the basis of difficulty, consistency and variety.
Registrations open at 2pm, with the first event scheduled for 3pm.
