Police have named a 46-year-old Wonthella man who died in a boating accident off the coast of Dunsborough in the State's south west on Sunday.
Paul Grant Curtois was diving on a seven-metre vessel with several other people in Eagle Bay about noon when he was hit on the head by a boat propeller.
The boat’s crew tried to resuscitate Mr Curtois and took him to a boat ramp where St John Ambulance staff were waiting.
They pronounced him dead at the scene.
Mr Curtois is the son of Ida Curtois, the campaigner for release of Marlon Noble who was held in Greenough Regional Prison without conviction for nearly a decade.
A report will be prepared for the coroner but police say the death appears to be a tragic accident.
