Police have appealed for public assistance to combat a “horrific” spike in scooter thefts.
Sgt Jeremy Ashworth-Preece said police had received another wave of stolen scooters.
Several recovered scooters, under forensic examination at the Geraldton police station, had been abandoned and damaged beyond repair.
Sgt Ashworth-Preece said scooter owners were often not helping their own cause by leaving bikes unsecured.
“We’re asking people to store their bikes away in a locked garage, especially at night,” he said.
