Geraldton not-for-profit trade training organisation Apprentice & Traineeship Company (ATC) is taking stock of available apprentices in a reverse marketing campaign to find jobs for those keen to join the workforce.
Traditionally businesses looking to take on apprentices would come to job providers looking for the right candidate, but ATC has flipped this model on its head, keeping a stock of quality, pre-screened and interviewed job seekers.
General manager Dave Clare said there were more than 100 people across the Mid West, ready to take up apprenticeships in all trades and service industries.
“Instead of sitting there looking for people that want kids, we’ve got kids and we’re taking them proactively to the people,” he said.
“We know that there are a lot of great kids out there looking for work, and we have a few mature age apprentices too, which have other skill sets to bring to the table."
