Mullewa Football Club president Brett Del Nero hopes to have a football academy at Tardun, the former Christian Brothers Agricultural School, by 2015.
In what could be a $1 millionplus deal, the Saints plan to buy the school and operate a football academy to bolster their recruitment pool.
It is believed the club has approached several mining companies as one avenue of possible funding.
Del Nero said the move could secure club’s future for the next five decades, drawing on players from the Northern Territory and the Murchison.
“We (Mullewa Football Club) are organising a football carnival out there but eventually turning that carnival into the Murchison Football League,” he said.
