Dynamic point guard Daniel Thomas is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Geraldton Buccaneers for season 2013.
The 2012 Buccaneers MVP said he wanted to play for the Buccs next season and was optimistic an agreement between the two parties would be finalised soon.
It is important for the Buccs to acquire Thomas' signature, after recently telling two-time MVP and American import Michael Lay he was not required for next season.
Buccaneers board member Andrew Horstman said the club would act quickly to get players signed in the new year.
"Daniel Thomas, along with a number of other players are viewed as important and valued components of what will make up an exciting team for 2013," he said.
