There was a sense of redemption in the Luckygray camp at Ascot racecourse on Saturday.
The Northampton-owned galloper claimed the Group 1 $500,000 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) ahead of Mr Moet by a length and a quarter, a reversal of the placings in the Railway Stakes two weeks ago.
Mr Moet ran on from the back of the field to finish second while God Has Spoken weaved his way through the field to claim third spot.
It is the gray stable’s first outright Group 1 after winning last year’s Group 1 $1 million Carlton Draught Railways Stakes on protest.
A change in tactic paid off for the Luckygray camp as the typical back marker settled midfield after a quick jump from the gates.
