B52's slay the Demons

The end of the 2011-12 home-and-away water polo season kicked off with a spirited game between women’s B52’s and Demons.

B52’s asserted their authority in the first half to lead 3-0 which ended being the final score line.

The second women’s game between ladder-leaders Serpents, and cellar-dwellers Rats concluded in a predictable 9-1 outcome.

Julie Coffin was on fire scoring five for the winners while Demi Ayling scored was Rats’ only goal.

The first men’s game between B52’s and Demons was a close affair which saw the ladder-leaders defeat second-placed Demons.

Scores were level at half time with B52’s gaining the ascendency in the second half to eventually win 5-3.

Mick Rock and Daniel Prout both netted two for the winners while Ben Saunders scored two for the Demons.

Rats struggled against the combined force of the Country Week Side going down 10-2.

Corey Smith and Mick Rock each bagged two for the winners while James Pluschke and Balazs Markus were Rats’ only scorers.

Results: From the lower grades were, MB B52’s Development defeated Rats 6-2 with Khallan Ridge, Dave Lindberg, Jake Patten, Liam Follington and Darcy Wiffen as best players.

Demons defeated Relics 6-5 with Zacc Cross, John Hancox, Kris Clarkson, Joel Cross and Ben Gibson as best players.

WB Serpents defeated Rats 4-2 with Bianca O’Malley, Marnie Bell, Elle Ayling and Gabby Abrams as best players.

Demons defeated Relics 7-2 with Caitlin Walker, Bridie Battilana, Mia Gleghorn and Michelle Prout.

WC Serpents Green defeated Rats 5-3 with Tiahni Rowcroft, Ashe Ullrich, Tenielle Hawke, Sophie Coffin and Ellie Canfield as best players.

Serpents Blue defeated B52’s 6-3 with Brooke Little, Sophie Ullrich, Emily Murphy and Jessica Liddle as best players.

Demons forfeited to Relics 10-0.
