St John of God Hospital has a new director of nursing.

Kacey Johnson joins the hospital with 10 years of experience in health.

She said she was looking forward to a new challenge and working with other health professionals in the region.

“I am looking forward to working with doctors and hospital staff to create systems that work to build an even better health service for the Mid West,” she said.

“It is a very exciting time to be part of the healthcare system.”

Originally from Geelong, Ms Johnson spent the past four years working at St John of God Hospital Geraldton and prior to that was working in other parts of regional WA and Victoria.

Ms Johnson has a wealth of knowledge and experience in acute nursing, health and safety and allied health management.

She said she enjoyed the WA lifestyle and was settled in Geraldton.

“I love the weather and the relaxed atmosphere,” she said.

“I am definitely here to stay.”
