Greyhound Australia will stop services to Geraldton, Carnarvon and Exmouth from March 8.
Further, Batavia Ticketing in Geraldton is closing its doors and as a result independent operator Integrity Coach Lines will be ceasing its Indian Ocean route and only providing a Brand Highway service.
Integrity are considering taking over Greyhound’s Perth-Broome service.
Geraldton Visitor Centre’s Ron Hayward said “any reduction in bus services to the City is regrettable and disappointing; however bus passengers make up only a small percentage of tourists to Geraldton”.
Greyhound general manager sales Kevin Lyons said Greyhound’s Broome to Darwin route remained commercially viable but the route from Perth to Broome was not.Full story in today's print edition.
