Greyhound Australia will stop services to Geraldton, Carnarvon and Exmouth from March 8.
Further, Batavia Ticketing in Geraldton is closing its doors and as a result independent operator Integrity Coach Lines will be ceasing its Indian Ocean route and only providing a Brand Highway service.
Integrity are considering taking over Greyhound’s Perth-Broome service.
Geraldton Visitor Centre’s Ron Hayward said “any reduction in bus services to the City is regrettable and disappointing; however bus passengers make up only a small percentage of tourists to Geraldton”.
Greyhound general manager sales Kevin Lyons said Greyhound’s Broome to Darwin route remained commercially viable but the route from Perth to Broome was not.
