Nagle Catholic College will close residential boarding at its historic St Patrick’s campus, it was revealed on Friday.
The college is associated with a long history of Catholic school boarding in Geraldton that spans more than 100 years.
The boarding house will continue operation for three years — to enable senior students to finish their secondary education — before closing its doors at the end of the 2015 school year.
The decision was made following two reviews conducted over the past year.
Nagle Catholic College principal Declan Tanham said the decision to close the boarding house was a difficult one.
