After five broken windscreens in less than six months, a trucking company has pleaded with rock-throwers to stop before one of their drivers is seriously injured.
B&J Catalano claim their road trains are being continually pelted by people, believed to be children, standing on the Highbury Street flyover, directly above the busy Southern Transport corridor.
A rock came close to injuring one driver recently, shattering a section of the windscreen.
B&J Catalano Mid West operations manager David Guy said the behaviour was dicing with their drivers’ lives.
“If there’s a decent-sized rock or brick, it’s going to go through the windscreen and cause the driver some injury,” he said.
