WA Labor’s deputy leader and health spokesman Roger Cook was in Geraldton yesterday to deliver a set of election commitments.

These included a $3 million increase to the Patients Assisted Travel Scheme, and $22.8 million funding for the Centre of Health Industries and the Centre of Resource Industry Training at Durack Institute of Technology.

Others to receive a financial boost are Geraldton Universities Centre, which had $3 million allocated to stage 2 of its expansion, and $600,000 to John Willcock College.

A further $9 million funding has been allocated to assist regional students in studying a range of subject choices.

Another $150,000 in funding has been promised for Foodbank, which will be used to purchase a refrigeration truck and a forklift.
