A 20-year-old man, charged over allegedly breaking a policeman’s hand and punching the windscreen of a car containing young children at McDonald’s on Christmas Day, has told a court he believed his drink was spiked.

Victor Jordan Oliver appeared in the Geraldton Magistrate’s Court via video link yesterday, from Greenough Regional Prison.

This follows the alleged incidents at McDonald’s where the restaurant’s male manager was punched and a window smashed.

Police allege the man asked a woman, who was with children, for a lift in the carpark before punching the windscreen of her vehicle, cracking the glass.

Staff and customers of McDonalds saw the incident unfold about 5.30pm.
