Meekatharra police have vowed to step up patrols over the Christmas holidays after two drink drivers were each charged twice in just 12 hours yesterday.
Police said a 24-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence yesterday at 9.58am when he blew .211.
This was after he received the same charge at 9.10pm on Wednesday for a .260 reading — five times above the legal limit.
The man was also charged with never having held a driver’s licence.
A 28-year-old woman, whose licence was suspended, was first charged with driving under the influence at 1.45am yesterday after a .189 breath test reading.
