Premier unveils $30m Dongara DHS revamp

The Barnett Government this week officially honoured a 2008 Budget commitment to fund the redevelopment of Dongara District High School.

The $30 million build has taken 22 months and incorporates new educational and teaching blocks, a library, assembly area and early childhood facilities.

WA Premier Colin Barnett was in Dongara on Tuesday and invited the more than 500 DDHS students to officially open their own school.

“The opening of these wonderful new buildings marks a new chapter for the Dongara community, which has worked tirelessly to see it become a reality,” he said.

The outdated buildings from the 1970s have been replaced by top-class, modern classrooms that incorporate all the latest technologies.
