Students, staff and parents cheered with excitement during Mt Tarcoola Primary School’s annual rocket launch.

Fourteen rockets were launched from the school oval on November 30, under the guidance of teacher Brett Normington and his class of Year 6 and 7 students.

Mr Normington said the event, now in its fifth year, had become a tradition enjoyed by the entire school community.

“The rocket program is a rich-task that integrates all curriculum areas and provides students with an opportunity for collaborative learning,” he said.

“It’s really engaging and handson — an experience the students will never forget,” he said.
