Polio Survivor opens up about life with disease

Poliomyelitis survivor: Vilma Nunn wants the Government and medical professionals to fund minerals and supplements for people who have had polio.

A Mount Tarcoola woman has spoken out about the burdens of living with polio.

Vilma Nunn contracted the disease when she was younger, but when in her 70s, found out the polio had returned.

The disease dramatically exacerbated her their health conditions and she said within three months, her osteoporosis had gone from low-risk to high-risk, she as rapidly losing weight and medical professionals could not understand why.

Her husband, Bob, who was her carer, died suddenly during this time.
