Franchises want a slice

SARAH CODDINGTON, Geraldton Newspapers July 4, 2012, 10:17 am

Western Australia’s mining boom is creating the start of a food revolution for Geraldton.

ASX-listed Retail Food Group will roll out its iconic franchise stores in key regional resource-rich areas across WA.

RFG owns and operates Donut King, Brumby’s Bakeries, Michel’s Patisserie, Esquires Coffee Houses, Big Dad’s Pies and Pizza Capers franchise systems.

The company is advertising for franchise owners for Brumby’s Bakery and Michel’s Patisserie in Geraldton.

Locations are yet to be decided on for the stores.

Various stores are also set for Kalgoorlie, South Hedland, Karratha, Newman and Carnarvon.

National sales and leasing co-ordination manager Faith Manning said regional areas connected with the booming resource sector had growing populations, a buoyant economy and increasing demand for new food retail options.

“We’re now searching for potential franchisees in WA — either those who already live in the area or would like to move to the area to open stores,” she said.

“No previous business experience is required as all training is provided to equip our franchisees with all the necessary skills to make the business a success.”

ASX Listed Retail Food Group Ltd is a leading Australian retail food brand manager, franchiser and wholesale coffee roaster.

There are 1240 of its outlets around the country.
