After months of preparation the moment on stage is almost here for Mid West school students.

The 2011 Iluka Showcase is only days away and this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Geraldton and Regional Schools Arts Festival.

For co-ordinator Aileen Scott this will be her eighth and final year.

Ms Scott said the Showcase would uphold the same quality of talent as previous years.

“It will definitely be as good as previous years,” she said.

She said during technical rehearsals held this week it was a vibrant atmosphere.

“The kids are all getting very excited now,” she said.

“They are more excited than nervous.”

Students from Holland Street School, Geraldton Senior College, St Francis Xavier Primary School, Allendale Primary School, Rangeway Primary School, Strathalbyn Christian College, Mount Tarcoola Primary School and St John’s School will all appear in the arts spectacular.

Acts will range from singing and dancing to skipping demonstrations and circus acts.

Two performances are exclusive to schools with a third held for the public.

The public performance will be held this Friday from 6.30pm.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $8 for children and $50 for a family (two adults, two children).

Running time is approximately two hours.
