Kate Emery

blogger

Kate Emery started her journalism career working for women's magazines in London where she covered the big issues - from mascara to hemlines and everything in between- before returning to her home town of Perth.

She has been a business reporter for The West Australian since 2007 and the paper's chief mining reporter since 2011.

Covering the resources boom doesn't leave much free time but when she's not getting red dust on her steel caps Kate enjoys a look at the more flippant things in life, from popular culture and social etiquette to defending her fellow Gen-Yers from accusations they are a generation of entitled slackers.
