Born a geek, Jason started playing with computers in 1982, aged 11, with his "Victor". He moved onto the TRS-80 CoCo, the Commodore 64, the Amiga, The Apple Mac and eventually the first PCs. Whilst he studied psychology at UWA and journalism at Curtin, he made the rookie error of turning his computer hobby into his career, thereby condemning himself to a life bereft of sunlight.
Jason spent the first 14 years of his working life labouring under incompetent management in the IT departments of some Australia's biggest companies. Ever the quick learner, in 2003 he left full-time employment and launched PCGURU – a computer support team now active across Australia. Operating a large IT company meant he could totally geek out his office by running a Mission Control console with three computer screens at the same time.
Jason has no desire to enter politics, fitness centres or the United States. His proudest accomplishments are solving the Rubik's Ribbon in under 10 seconds and quoting bad 80's & 90's song lyrics for virtually every one of life’s special occasions. Can't stop this. Jason has four children he is willing to own up to and a truly fantastic, beautiful and smart wife who sub-edits everything he writes. The closest thing he has to a pet is his chest hair.
As Radio 6PR’s Chief Geek, Jason does talkback each Thursday afternoon responding to questions from "how to hide porn from the wife" through to "why does my ear gets hot when I'm on the phone for a while?". He also does Tech Talkback on Melbourne's 3AW on Sunday afternoons and is currently a floater presenter at 6PR filling in whenever the A-Team are on leave. The perfect candidate for talkback radio, Jason has lots of strongly-held but poorly-thought out opinions on virtually everything.
