Born and raised in Perth, Beatrice grew up wanting to be an astronaut until she realised at about age 11 that maths was involved. She quickly turned her attention to journalism.
After studying at Murdoch University, her first was with a country paper in Geraldton, followed by a stint with a suburban paper in Perth. She’s been with The West Australian for almost two years, and has held the local government and civic affairs round for nearly a year – a title bestows the dubious privilege of reading countless council agendas and listening to those glorious tit-for-tat exchanges that our State's councillors do so well. She also reports on development and heritage issues.
Away from the job, Beatrice can be found watching trashy TV – Kendra, or Keeping Up With the Kardashians – or having a glass of white with friends.
