A seriously injured man found on an Adelaide road has been identified as a 67-year-old whose car was stolen and driven from the scene.
A passing cyclist discovered the man in Derlanger Avenue at Medindie Gardens about 11.20 pm(CDT) on Wednesday.
He had facial injuries and was lying in a pool of his own blood.
Police say the man was conscious but unable to talk and is now in a serious condition in an induced coma in hospital.
They say they want to speak to the person seen reversing his white sedan out of Derlanger Avenue about 20 minutes before the cyclist arrived.
The car's lights were off.
Police have identified the injured man. They say he's from Prospect and the missing vehicle belongs to him.
The Nissan Maxima sedan was carrying the SA registration plates VHV263.
Police are warning the public not to approach or attempt to stop the car.
