A 43-year-old Sydney man accused of sexually abusing a female relative when she was aged between three and 14 has been charged with 17 child sex offences.
Police said on Thursday that in November last year detectives were made aware of allegations the man sexually assaulted the girl on numerous occasions between 1999 and 2009.
The alleged assaults primarily occurred at two properties in Sydney's northwest.
At 8.30am (AEDT) on Wednesday police attended a property at Girraween and arrested a 43-year-old man and charged him with 17 child sex offences and one charge of common assault.
The sex offences included four counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 10, six counts of indecent assault on a victim under 10, three counts of commit act of indecency with victim under 10, three counts of incite victim under 10 to commit indecent act and aggravated indecent assault with the victim being under the authority of an offender.
The man was refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Thursday.
