An "elaborate" hydroponic cannabis growing operation with over 40 plants has been found by police in a garage in the Northern Territory.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips says police made the find during a search of a home in Braitling, near Alice Springs, on Thursday afternoon.
"Police located an elaborate hydroponics growing operation, secreted in a room within the garage," Det Snr Sgt Phillips said in a statement.
Police found over 40 cannabis plants in the garage as well as a trafficable quantity of loose cannabis plant material.
Det Phillips said a man has been arrested and charged with multiple drug offences.
"It was clear to Police this person has been cultivating cannabis for some time," he said.
Police said the man will likely face Alice Springs court at a later date.
