Eight firearms including a semi-automatic shotgun and a stash of cannabis has been seized from the rural northern NSW property of an elderly man.
Seven rifles, one of which was semi-automatic, a semi-automatic shotgun and 11 grams of cannabis were found when the 78-year-old's Tuckombil property was raided on Wednesday morning by detectives from the firearms and organised crime squad, police said.
Semi-automatic weapons are prohibited under the firearms act.
A large cache of ammunition and fireworks was also discovered.
The man was charged with several firearms offences and granted bail.
He's due before Ballina Local Court in February.
