A teenage boy has been charged with lighting a grass fire in the NSW inland town of Young.
Police said that just after 10pm (AEDT) on January 15 NSW Fire & Rescue officers were called to a fire at Blackguard Gully Reserve and extinguished it with minimal damage caused.
Witnesses told police four young people had been seen in the area prior to the fire, allegedly acting suspiciously.
On January 16, police arrested a 16-year-old boy and charged him with intentionally causing a fire and being reckless as to its spread.
He will appear at children's court on Tuesday.
