A man has died after being stabbed during an argument at Lake Macquarie in NSW's Hunter Valley.
Police said that at about 7pm (AEDT) on Saturday a 29-year-old man became involved in an altercation with a 39-year-old man at a unit in the suburb of Windale.
"The argument allegedly escalated, with the younger man sustaining stab wounds to the chest and torso," police said in a statement.
The 29-year-old was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle where he died a short time later.
Police arrested a 39-year-old man who is assisting detectives with their inquiries.
