A firefighter in his 60s has died while helping a friend do a burn-off in Victoria's northwest.
The CFA member, who was not on duty at the time, was helping with the private burn-off in Berriwillock, west of Swan Hill, when he is believed to have died from a medical condition.
Brigades were called to help bring the fire under control around 4.20pm (AEDT) on Saturday.
In a statement, CFA Acting Chief Officer Steve Warrington expressed his deepest sympathies to the man's family and colleagues.
All CFA members affected by the tragedy have been offered support.
