Suzuki's centrepiece at the motor show is a fully fettled Sport hot-hatch concept created by the brand's chief engineer, Naoyuki Takeuchi.

Seen previously only at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year, the one-off Swift Sport display car is powered by the same 100kW/160Nm 1.6-litre petrol engine seen in the production car.

However, it features a sportier body kit, 18-inch alloy wheels and performance brakes.

It also has a unique interior with Recaro seats.

It headlines a range of Suzuki cars, motorcycles and watercraft, making it the only brand to display vehicles representing three modes of transport.

Along with its racy Swift, Suzuki will exhibit its current SX4 and Grand Vitara models, as well as the V-Strom 650 adventure touring motorbike and a 7m bowrider boat powered by a 175hp Suzuki engine.

Suzuki said it decided to hold a joint stand following the success of its advertising campaign celebrating the engineering synergies between its iconic Hayabusa sports bike and the Kizashi sports sedan.

Both cars will be on show in Sydney.
