Infiniti is Nissan's luxury offshoot, a la Toyota's Lexus.

Two out of three Infinitis are sold in the US but the marque is in global-expansion mode.

It is shifting its headquarters from Japan to Hong Kong and now sells into 48 countries.

The big target is China's burgeoning well-heeled class, many of whom have a strong taste for the finer (consumer) things.

Infiniti is also pouring big money into Australia, where the brand made a less-determined 1990s foray.

The first dealerships are in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with WA likely to be added within a year.

In the meantime, eager WA buyers can contact an Eastern States dealer or Infiniti directly.

Servicing in WA would be provided. Take it to Melbourne or Sydney and you'd almost be needing your next one.
