Ford has added a limited-edition model boasting an eye-catching black metallic exterior accentuated by 17-inch black alloy wheels, to its Fiesta line-up.
While it may not exactly fit into the hot-hatch realm (we will have to wait until next year for the new Fiesta ST), performance on the Metal model has been increased slightly.
The 1.6-litre Duratec engine in the Metal develops 98kW at 6700rpm and 160Nm of torque at 4250rpm which is 10kW and 9Nm more than the 1.6-litre Zetec hatch.
The extra performance comes from a new air intake, exhaust with wider pipes and engine tuning which gets an extra 300 revs.
The Fiesta Metal will only be available in three-door guise.
It will come with twin chrome exhaust tips, sports body kit with silver-painted front grille surround, front aero spoiler and front fog light bezels, privacy glass, 17-inch black alloy wheels and sports suspension with lowered ride height.
Interior styling features piano black centre stack bezel, air vent rings and door pulls, black heated leather sports seats with silver contrast stitching, leather-wrapped reach and adjustable steering wheel, leather-wrapped gear shifter and handbrake, alloy pedal covers and stainless-steel scuff plates.
It also gets climate control, keyless start, electro chromatic rear-view mirror, automatic projector headlights, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and rear parking sensors and a full suite of safety gear. The Fiesta Metal will be sourced from Ford's Cologne plant in Germany with just 250 available nationally costing $22,990.
