A special version of the Subaru Forester's entry X variant adds $3500 of features, including leather seats, with no price increase.

Other upgrades are 16-inch alloys and wintry-weather touches such as fog lights, seat heaters, a wiper de-icer and heated door mirrors.

The Luxury Edition sells for drive-away prices of $32,990 manual and $34,990 auto.

All Foresters have all-wheel-drive, five-star crash ratings and DataDot security - microscopic dots containing the car's unique Vehicle Identification Number.
