Longtime Hyundai sales champ John Hughes is now the Kia king.
During May, his Kia dealership became the first in Australia to sell more than 100 new cars in one month.
May was also just his fourth month with a Jeep franchise yet he outsold every other dealer in the land.
He was also number one nationally at shifting Hyundais but that's tired news.
Since co-pioneering the brand in Australia in 1986, he's been the perennial bestseller and world champ on occasions.
Across WA last month, 350 Kias were sold, a leap of 80 per cent on May 2011.
The hottest May models were the small cars - the Cerato and Rio - each exceeding 100 sales.
Next came the Sportage, Carnival and Sorento.
In May, Mr Hughes made 447 of WA's 1121 Hyundai sales, which put the brand in second place after Toyota.
The Hyundai bestsellers were the i30 followed by the Accent, i20, Elantra and ix35.With Hyundai and Kia, Mr Hughes is on a winning Korean quinella.
