It was the perfect birthday present for fashion label Camilla & Marc to kick off this year's Australian Fashion Week.
Celebrating a decade as a label, the brother-and-sister design duo of Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman showed off their spring/summer 2013/14 collection on Monday at the show's new venue, the Carriageworks in inner-city Sydney.
Inspired by Russian matryoshka dolls the first looks to hit the runway were outfits in striking red and black abstraction prints.
Structured mini dresses, harem pants, short draped skirts and strapless tops in these prints were showcased against black or white pants and tops.
Pale blue also featured strongly mixed with white and acid blue, tailored into suits, cute midriff dresses and skirts.
A bright orange silk shift dress could be the perfect cocktail party outfit, while symmetrical off-the-shoulder dresses in black or white were daring and sophisticated.
For the opulent look, Camilla & Marc mixed gold brocade with sheer black lace in an assortment of chic outfits.
White leather was used in miniskirts, dresses and pants in what's shaping to be a strong look for next summer.
