Pete Evans.

Hot on the heels of Jamie Oliver choosing Perth as the next location for his restaurant chain Jamie's Italian, My Kitchen Rules judge and celebrity chef Pete Evans is planning to open a local eatery.

"I'm looking at opening something in Perth this year or next year," he revealed to Access All Areas.

"A restaurant/bar not as expensive as the others."

Evans and his business partners opened grill house Little Hunter in Melbourne last month and plan to bring a similar restaurant to Perth.

"We've just set up our first one in Melbourne, which is a modern steakhouse, and we're probably going to be doing one of them," he said.

"We'd like to do a steakhouse in Perth because there's a great market."

One of his business partners is scouting locations.

Oliver's second Australian franchise, in the one40william building in the CBD, is expected to open next week once its liquor licence is approved.
